Demystifying the HOA – “What goes on behind the scenes”

July 21, 2016, 6:00-7:00pm

26 people attended the Demystifying the HOA workshop.  Attendants were asked to sign in and provide contact information.  They were encouraged to sign up to the mailing list on the website  to receive updates over email.

A handout was given that outlined:

1) What HOA Boards do
2) What Directors do
3) and what Property Managers do.

Patricia O’Herron welcomed attendants and encouraged people to step into a leadership role.  Alec Robbie described the need for Directors in order for regular business to proceed.  Questions were fielded from homeowners.  Residents gave feedback on the positive changes in the community – new fencing and paint.

Complaints by homeowners were about parking, lighting, safety and landscape.  Suggestions were shared on home video surveillance and security screen doors.    Neighbors met each other and stayed longer to chat.  Residents reported feeling welcome in this event.
